It Gets Worse

TD and Oprah

I’ve been more or less out of circulation for a couple of years. You know, trying to take care of my wife after her fall. While sounding the alarm about the sheeple is really important, my first responsibility is to my wife and her physical and spiritual well-being. As she improves (and she does, slowly, each day) I get more and more of my time back. And as long as I can avoid addict behavior toward the television, I have more time than I have had in the last three years to expose the pimps and pimpettes.

I had hoped that during my self-imposed time out, the pulpit pimps would stop pimping and that the sheeple would stop supporting them. But that was an unrealistic hope. As the Bible says: Can a leopard change its spots (Jer 13:23)? Can a thing do anything other than what its nature demands? Can a pulpit pimp be anything more than a pulpit pimps? Without a move of God in his or her heart, no. Recent information once again gives truth to the Bible.

T. Dexter, the man who only just now kind of, sort of figured out that God is Trinitarian in nature, is holding another MegaFest (here after known as MegaMess). This time he’s holding it in Dallas Texas.

But it gets worse. Guess who one of his primo speakers is? That’s right – Oprah Winfrey.
If you recall, Oprah has made it very clear that she rejects Jesus Christ both as Savior and as the only way to God the Father. Take a look here so you can hear her for yourself. She’s going to be speaking on…well, let me quote a press release of hers.

“[Winfrey] will be joined by Bishop Jakes and together they will continue the important work of reaching out to the many fatherless sons and daughters who are struggling and in need of healing,”

Let me make sure I understand this. T. Dexter is holding an event that is, given the majority of the subjects and the profession of the speakers, a Christian event. And he invites a woman who is clearly an enemy of the Gospel. If it’s just “spiritual” he should say so. Then Christians would know to stay away and Oprah could be right at home.

Don’t misunderstand. I don’t have a problem with Oprah acting in a manner consistent with her own testimony. She denies Jesus Christ and she promotes idolatry and lies. That’s fine. She’s unsaved. Why would I expect anything else?

But it gets worse. Guess what other luminary will be speaking at the festival.

Creflo (aka Cashflow) Dollar will be there. This is the man who gave a sermon that insisted that Jesus became God. He wasn’t always God, says Cashflow. He’s also one of the many high visibility preachers who claims that Jesus suffered in hell for our sins. His death on the cross only made it possible for us to have supernatural health. And even then, it only made it possible.

So far, we have a man who recently, maybe, figured out that God is triune in nature, a Godless promoter of New Age lies, and a preacher who not only denies the absolute deity of Jesus Christ but denies the efficacy of the cross in making payment for sin.

But it gets worse. Guess who else is going to be there? Yeah. Joel “Willow Boy” Osteen and his wife Victoria. He likely is going to teach us how to have our best lives now, or make every day a Saturday, or something.

But it gets worse. Guess who’s promoting the event and helping to arrange travel to Dallas to take part in the event. Yeah – John Kenneth Jenkins Senior, the senior pastor at First Baptist Church of Glenarden on the Kettering (FBCGotK).

The man people keep saying is a godly man is promoting an event that features a straight up Christ denying heathen (yes, it’s an ugly word, but it accurately describes the unsaved). He’s promoting an event that features a heretic and a man who wouldn’t know sin if it bit him on the butt.

You folks out there who attend FBCGotK, do me and you a favor. Contact your pastor and ask him why he is sending people to an event that features Oprah and why he is promoting an event that is featuring a man who denies the efficacy of the cross for our sins.

Oh wait. I forgot. You likely won’t be able to contact him to ask him about it. His armor bearers would probably tackle you and put your behind in a full nelson.

Well, maybe you can talk to a couple of the deacons and see what they say. Maybe you can contact Stan Featherstone. I think he’s still the church administrator. Or maybe one of the other deacons. Maybe they can explain why John K. Jenkins Sr. is associating with and supporting such men and women as these. Maybe he can explain why he is helping to give them the appearance of legitimacy and sacrificing those for whom his is responsible for his own fame.

But then again, a lot of you sheeple see absolutely nothing wrong with what he is doing. Or if you do think it’s wrong, you claim it’s not your job to do or say anything about it. After all, we shouldn’t touch God’s anointed.

But then there are those of you who know what John is doing is wrong and know he should be corrected. But you don’t say anything and instead keep silent and remain there, supporting this man with your time, your talent and your treasure. Of you I can only say “May God have mercy on your souls.” You have failed to sound the alarm and instead have remained silent while the sheeple are destroyed (Ezek 33:1-6). You who sit there silently are the watchmen who will have, as Ezekiel points out, the blood of the slaughtered on your hands.

Oh yeah – for schlubs out there who respond to any observations with “Well, I never heard him say that, or promote this, or do that”, here is the promotion from the FBCGotK website. Take a look at it. Hit Contol + if you have to magnify it slightly. Look at it. Understand that your pastor, the man who is to watch over your souls, is sending you to sit under heathen, heretics, and motivational speakers.

WHO DO YOU LIKE? I have never heard a good word about any Preacher here. Surely God has some saved messengers that are blessed and prosperous through their obedience in the Lord! It is possible !Even among God’s children there are those that are not always on the perfect and straight but nonetheless they are God’s children! Are there any Prodigal sons among us?

(MN: I like McArthur, Mohler, Sparks, Wennersten, B. Wommack, Eric Redmond, Greg Duhart, and a host of others. I like Spurgeon, Alistair Beg, and R. C. Sproul. I like any man, regardless of his style or charisma who presents the gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit. I like any man who recognizes the Bible as the rule for living. But none of them are going to appear on this site because, well, because they aren’t pimps. And this site is to warn the sheeple about the pimps.

And by the way, surely you can’t be silly enough to think that I object to these people because they have a little cash. Please pay attention. I object to them because they teach heresies, tie themselves to the udgodly, and take advantage of the sheeple. It’s not a matter of an occasional excursion from the truth. These people wallow in heresy and dishonesty like a pig wallows in the mud. )

If I may, let me just add to the already stellar list of folks already mentioned by Melvin. (Note: If I mention just the last names of these people, that means they are men who should be generally known by most bible-believing Christians and serious students of scripture. If I mention the first and last names, they’re probably people you don’t know, but should know.)

I like Calvin, Edwards, Watson, Brooks, Baxter, Owen, Ryle, Sinclair Furguson, RW Glenn, Mark Dever, Alistair Begg, Paul Washer, Joel Beeke, Voddie Baucham, Thabiti Anyabwile and Redditt Andrews, just to name a few more.
You know, I just had a thought. If you were to actually research these men and find out about their ministries, we might actually be able to have an engaging and fruitful dialogue with you. Because then, we would actually be discussing something we never get to discuss regularly with folks who support the charlatans—the content of Scripture.

There is another way you could literally MAKE HISTORY on the site as well. Since you are so certain that there is value to what these shysters have to say, you could do something that has never, to my knowledge, been done on this platform. You could actually pick a sermon—ANY SERMON—from a pimp highlighted on this site—ANY PIMP—and lay out a cogent, biblical case for why you think their sermon has merit for the body of Christ at large or any professing Christian in particular. I have issued this challenge in the past, but I have yet to find any takers. I remember offering one gentleman the service of even transcribing the message into print format myself just to save him the trouble of doing the legwork. He still declined.

So tell me Tonee, will you make history?

(MN: This is why I like this site so much [aside from the fact that I created it]. I had forgotten about your challenge. Of course, I’m not really expecting much from Tonee or the rest of the folks who think “Touch not my anointed” is talking about the pimps. But it sure would be nice if Tonee stepped up to the challenge. However, I ain’t holding my breath. )

You are so funny. I laughed all the way through this post. I laughed at your delivery; not at the information, for that is no laughing matter. It is not funny that Jakes has been spreading the false unitarian gospel all these years. It is also not funny that he has been fleecing the people all the way back to his multi-million dollar home, while the bulk of his congregation hovers around the poverty level.

It is not funny that Oprah is leading AMERICA to hell with her new age philosophy, denying the deity of Christ, and His being the Only Way. It is not funny that no one has told her that she will either bow before the Lord Jesus Christ in this life, or in eternity; it is her choice.

It is not funny that Take yo’ (you call him Cashflow) Dollar has people so brainwashed that they believe that salvation means health, wealth and prosperity while he is robbing them all the way to the bank. It is not funny that he is still in the pulpit even though he is disqualified from pastoral ministry, since the pastor is to be “blameless”, (1 Timothy 3:2), and he is certainly not blameless after having a few incidents with the law over the past few years.

It is downright sad that anyone would listen to Nosteen, who refuses to even discuss sin and hell. But why would he? He might actually have to admit that he is a sinner too. And his wife…

2 Corinthians 6:17 says “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord….” 1 Peter 1:16 says “…be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 2 calls the people of God a “holy priesthood” and a “holy nation”. Ephesians 5:11 says “…have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them…” 2 Corinthians 6:14 says “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” John 3:18 says “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.”, and then verse 36 says “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

I could go on and on, because there is so much wrong with this gathering on so many levels. The long and short of it is that the church of the living God better REPENT…the kingdom of God is at hand.

When did TD (maybe) amend his stance on the Trinity?

    • mhjones2001 Says:

Last year. He gave a somewhat limp wristed semi affirmation of the doctrine – without ever admitting his stance prior to his sort of change. Sort of.

  4. stannj51 Says:

Do you have a link to this?

(MN: A link to what? For the FBGG Info go to For MegaMess, search with google and chase the links down. It’s not that hard. )

    • stannj51 Says:

Yes, I realize I can find those, but what you and I were just talking about: Jake’s sort-of recant on Trinity.

(MN: My apologies. I didn’t understand the question. Try this link for starters. )

      • stannj51 Says:

Thanks for the link MN. Very informative.

When someone has a change of doctrine as radical as the Trinity/Oneness one, they set themselves firmly against the former view, they don’t hedge like Jakes did in that interview.

But, in my opinion, the actual reason for his switch is what the article says at the beginning: Lifeway wanted to drop his books. Without Trinitarian’ support, he’d lose a lot of the money and fame he craves. Interesting, but Lifeway has prospective authors sign a statement that they agree with SBC doctrine before they publish them, something Jakes must have done before Feb 2007 when they released his first book.

I don’t trust him as far as I could throw him. I’m not holding my breath, but if he ever goes Zacchaeus on us, I’ll have a change of heart about him.

I’m trying to send this reply again, I didn’t see your MN note back to me until a few days ago. I don’t know if it got through to you or not the first time.

Thanks for the link MJ (I used “MN” by mistake in my earlier attempt). Very informative.

  5. Pearson Says:

Good to see you back a little bit more, Melvin. Hope the wife is doign better. Anyway, Tonee: 1. The point of the website is to warn people, so it would make sense that the information does not necessarily cover good pastors. 2. Not saying that we as believers cannot have a lot of money (Paul knew little and plenty), but throughout Church History we have been prosper-less and power-ful. When a whole crop of people pop up saying that should be the case, it sounds suspicous.

  6. Black Theologian Says:

    Hey there, Melvin!

First, it is great to see that you’re still on the battle field in the fight for truth in this wicked generation. Everything that you’ve said is the truth and nothing but the truth so help you, God.

I have always maintained that no “serious” Christian that really desire to grow in Christ and understand His word, could ever sit for long under men like Osteen, Dollar, and Jakes. Of course, there are many other false teachers in the word of faith and charismatic circles that people should be warned about as well.

As much as I hate to say it, I am sometimes deeply ashamed of Black people and our deliberate choice to remain ignorant of biblical truth in order to be entertained by spiritual con artists. After thinking about the events of the Trayvon Martin case and how many of our young Black men are seen and perceived, and then comparing that to the problems within the Black church in America, I’ve come to the conclusion that there is something deeply broken in the psyche of Black people and I’m not sure how and why we got to where we are.

I hear all the time that it has something to do with slavery, but I’m not buying that nonsense as the days of slavery have been too far removed from the last couple of generations of people so that there is no excuse for who we have become as a people!

Thanks for being a good Christian Apologist, and may God continue to bless you, your dear wife, and the ministry that you are called to.

    Black Theologian

    • JD Straw Says:

I couldn’t agree with you more. First of all, most Black people under the age of 40 don’t even know or care enough about their past history to claim slavery as an excuse for their ignorant and bad ways.

  7. TONEE Says:

There is more Hell in Christian people that fight over Apples and Oranges of doctrine than fighting for the dying souls of people living in poverty, crime and ungodly lifestyles. We are too busy fighting each other so the devil can be about his work while we are all about what we think we know and trying to put others down! A shameful time for the Church!

(MN: So how does preaching another gospel, a false gospel, keep people out of hell? How does exposing people who preach false doctrine impact the poor badly? Where does it say we are to fight the devil for the souls of people? We are to pray for them. And we are certainly to present the Gospel to them. But we are not fight for them. After all, it’s not my fighting that saves them. It’s God’s work in their hearts. But of course that’s just a matter of apples and oranges doctrine stuff. Does it matter than a man denies the deity of Jesus Christ? Is that just apples and oranges differences. I suggest YOU are a shame of the Church. )

  9. TONEE Says:

I just tend to have this old Christian Habit of just praying for people, tending to my own business and allowing God to direct me through the filling of the Holy Spirit. I just can’t see the value and purpose in dealing with Preacher’s lives and their sermons.I was not called to do that .Maybe some of you were.So be it. I still stress the fact that God has many Prodigal sons even among the preachers we decide to call unholy or not called by God.Can anyone truly say what God has done in another man’s life just on the basis of human failures?Again, this is the problem with the modern church.Everyone is in charge and pointing fingers. Thank God there is a place in our heart to reach God and get pass all the distraction and self-righteous appeal of the devil!

(MN: The primary value in dealing with preachers’ sermons [they are public not hidden away] is that we are told to contend for the truth. When Fast Eddie preaches a heresy, you think we are to sit by silently and let it pass? Of if Ken Copeland tell his congregation that Jesus’ death on the cross didn’t do anything to pay for their sins, you believe you should keep your mouth shut and not warn others about him?

I love it when people throw out canards. No one is trying to say what God has done in another man’s life just on the basis of his failures. Try to pay attention here: I am saying that the subjects of this site preach heresy, swindle the sheeple, show more interest in promoting themselves than in promoting God. It’s a consistent and deadly behavior on their part. See if you can maybe tell the difference.

By the way, where does it say you can’t pray for them and warn others about them? )

    • Anonymous Says:

Apparently you missed the 5th chapter of Ephesians, where we are told to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them….that’s verse 11 in case you are interested in learning God’s Word.

  10. TONEE Says:

There is no place in the Living Bible that uses the word TRINITY. It’s a theological term to express the being and man’s conception of God.But now everyone has got so upset and focus on it.God never called himself a Trinity, ever! God is who he is.”i AM THAT I AM”..

  11. Black Theologian Says:

What you are saying is pure nonsense! The Bible warns and admonish the church of Christ to exercise discernment when it comes to teaching. Unfortunately, Black folks are only interested in the charisma and entertainment of preachers, not whether they have godly integrity and character.

The book of Acts says that the Bereans “search the Scriptures daily to see whether the things that the great apostle Paul had taught them was so”. If Paul, who is the author of 13 N.T. Books can be checked, then who are Jakes, Dollar, and Osteen that they cannot be checked?

For the record, while the word “Trinity” is not in the Bible, certainly the concept is, and the word “Godhead” is used and that word is another expression of the word “Trinity”. Make an effort to learn something solid and truthful and not heresy that deceives and misleads.

    • JD Straw Says:

People had better search the Scriptures after hearing some of the sermons I’ve heard in some of the churches I’ve had the misfortune to attend. I’m hoping and praying that God will direct me to a God-fearing, Bible-based, non entertainment based church. Is there no fear of God any more? If I wanted to be entertained I could’ve stayed out there in the world where there is REAL entertainment that would’ve satisfied my sinful nature before I got saved. I no longer want to be entertained nor do I want to go to any church and see the ungodly worldliness that has pervaded most churches. Lord help us all!

I stumbled on your site 2/3 years ago, and via this site have found teachers like Baucham, Piper etc. Its incredible that others read these articles, see biblical references, evidence and still fail to see through these”teachers”. How you keep doing this MJ is beyond me. But thank you for your persistance and love for God’s people.

(MN: People like you are the reason I keep going. Also the hope of becoming a pimp in my right, making a bunch of money and becoming an instructor pilot someplace in Wisconsin. )

You’ve an ‘excuse’ for a national leader who promotes perversion and abortion. He uses congress cronies to enforce these evils via laws! Contrast these facts with the plethora of religionists, masquerading as God’s preachers, abounding on your and therefore our Tv. America, God help you to nationally change to what you should and could be!
